Project Summary

Montgomery County Engineer is proposing to replace an existing pipe culvert running along the south side of Lower Miamisburg Road, roughly 250 feet west of the northern intersection of Lower Miamisburg Road and Union Road in Miami Township.

The existing culvert will be removed, and a new culvert will be installed on a new alignment. Right-of-way will be purchased to ensure the entirety of the new pipe is within the county right-of-way. To assist with future maintenance, manholes will be installed along the culvert’s length for easier access. The existing concrete/gravel driveway at 7096 Lower Miamisburg Road will be removed and replaced to facilitate construction. The new driveway will be entirely concrete. The guardrail south of Lower Miamisburg Road at the intersection of South Union Road will be removed and reconstructed on a new alignment to improve safety at the intersection.

Lower Miamisburg Road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project, approximately 6 weeks. A detour utilizing SR 725 and Jamaica Road will be provided. Local traffic, including access to all driveways, will be maintained for residents within the area of the closure.

The project is scheduled to begin construction in February 2024 and be completed in April 2024. Should you have questions regarding the project, please contact Henry Brierton of the Montgomery County Engineer’s Office at (937) 496-7734 or briertonh@mcohio.org
