Project Summary
The Montgomery County Engineer is proposing to construct a project called the Westbrook Road Bridge Reconstruction Project, BKV-24-3.99, Job # 2023-14, in the City of Brookville OH. The existing structure has a general appraisal rating of 4 (poor condition), primarily due to deck and superstructure conditions. These structure conditions are caused by several areas of cracking in the asphalt deck surface, and several areas of rusted, broken prestressed steel strands and reinforcement of the bridge beams.
This proposed project will involve the removal of the existing prestressed concrete bridge beams/asphalt surface, and installation of new prestressed concrete bridge beams/concrete surface. New guardrail and new sidewalk will also be installed along with associated roadway improvements. This project will involve overhead and underground utility relocations. Right of way acquisitions will be necessary for access throughout the construction of this project and future maintenance. The project will begin construction in the spring of 2027. Westbrook Road, near the project, will be closed to all but local traffic during the bulk of the construction, which will last for approximately 3 months.
