Project Summary
The Montgomery County Engineer is proposing the construction of a project called the Yankee Street Resurfacing & Pedestrian Improvement Project, Job #2023-17, in Washington Township. Yankee Street from Spring Valley Pike to Leona Lane will be resurfaced. The project will also address a gap in sidewalk connectivity at Yank’s Court and update the traffic signals at Lyons Road and Spring Valley Pike for improved accessibility. As necessary, curb ramps along the corridor will be upgraded to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project is essential to address deteriorated pavement conditions and improve pedestrian access.
Construction of this project is scheduled to begin in Spring 2027 and will take approximately six months to complete. Traffic on Yankee Street will be maintained, though some lane closures will be necessary to protect workers and the traveling public.
