About Me:

I am a native Daytonian and grew up in Englewood, graduating from Northmont High School.  My mother was a teacher at Northmont and my father was a small business owner. I am a proud husband to my wife of 19 years, Katrina, and engaged father to daughters Kassie and Addison, and sons Wyatt and Waylon. My ministry is serving young people through coaching in addition to playing guitar on the worship team at Cornerstone Community Church in Franklin, Ohio. I’m a driven civil engineer and surveyor with a passion for serving the people in the area I grew up and currently live.

Professional Experience:
In my 29 years in the engineering industry, I have served as project manager for numerous $50,000 to $150M transportation improvement projects, led the operations of the transportation practice at LJB Inc., a local engineering consulting firm, and most recently won the Democratic March 2024 Primary and headed for the general election in November 2024 for Montgomery County Engineer.

Coaching Experience:
I have coached both high school and youth sports for 24 years. I have coached both my daughters in club/travel softball and basketball. I have also coached both my sons in travel baseball, Dayton Metro basketball, and Miamisburg Wee Vikes Football. I am blessed to be currently serving as Bellbrook High School’s Head Varsity Softball Coach and the Youth Director for Dayton Classics Baseball Club.

What Sets Me Apart:
I believe in teamwork and moving the collective to a common goal. My organization, effective communication, ability to build trust and inspire teams are blessings that have allowed me to find opportunities to help others succeed in their personal goals.

Open to Collaboration:
I am passionate about both vocations – engineering/surveying and coaching – and welcome opportunities to connect with people to explore potential collaborations.

Continuous Learner:
I am committed to continuous learning. I am currently exploring the application of key performance indicators in the public sector to help the County Engineer’s Office improve service to citizens and retain and recruit talent. I’m also learning to coach and train the high level pattern hitting approach to generate launch quickness for softball/baseball players.
